The principle of the competition is simple but demanding: present your thesis subject in just 180 seconds, in a captivating and understandable way for the general public.
During this regional final, 15 doctoral students will take up this challenge, representing several major university alliances:
- the Sorbonne University Alliance
- l’Alliance UPC
- Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL)
Ahead of this deadline, the Sorbonne University Alliance final was held on March 19, 2026, revealing five winners selected to represent their establishment on a regional scale.
- The jury’s first prize was awarded to Bastien Lahetjuzansecond-year doctoral student at the BMBI laboratory (BioMechanics and BioEngineering) at the University of Technology of Compiègne.
- Le deuxième prix du jury a été décerné à Gabriele Lienhardthird-year doctoral student in neuroscience at the Brain, Cognition and Behavior doctoral school.
- The third jury prize goes to Sorosh Samieidoctorant in première année à l’Université de Technologie de Compiègne.
- The public prize was won by Claudia Sasecond-year doctoral student at the Physics and Chemistry of Materials doctoral school.
- Finally, the high school students’ prize was awarded to Marie Crémillieusecond-year doctoral student in the TIMR laboratory (Integrated transformations of renewable materials).
Facing them, candidates from other establishments of excellence will try to convince the jury and the public thanks to their ability to make science come alive and understandable.
