At the top, we are greeted by Ian Van Elst, a park security monitor. Essential supervision for this type of attraction. Trained especially for this, he gives initial advice and is reassuring. In a blue overall that looks like construction clothing, we are ready to set off.

The safety monitor secures the latest fixings which allow it to be securely attached. On either side, two large yellow ropes. They constitute a loose net, which, from one second to the next, will stretch to throw us into flight.

The supervisor activates the lever which propels us into the air. The second time the elastic that holds us tenses, it makes us flutter even more. The feeling is exhilarating and encourages you to start again.

As soon as we came back down, two teenagers asked with envy: “Can we try too?” L’attraction “for daring families” or “teenagers who want challenges”according to the director Séverine Vercruysse, made fly.

“Innovation is really important for adventure parks”

Since mid-March, Aventure Parc has launched its new season. Who says new year, says new attraction. This year, the park is counting on the showcase embodied by the New Space Jump.“We want to stay at the cutting edge, innovation is really important for adventure parks, it’s a new signature”confides the manager.

Initially, the New Space Jump was a simple ground structure. L’Aventure Parc decided to make an improved version by raising it about twenty meters, thus allowing you to be 35 meters above the ground.

Since its opening more than 20 years ago, the park claims to have welcomed more than “1 million visitors”. Through a range of gradual prices, its managers want a heterogeneous public to coexist, whether families, schools or companies after work.

In order to refresh its image and sustain, or even expand, its audience, the place needs to renew its offering regularly. Although spectacular, the new installation can only appeal to part of the clientele: the most daring.

Far from this sensational aspect, the Aventure Parc strives to attract a clientele“family and local”says the director. The intergenerational success of the “Fly-line” zip line is part of this. Alongside these leading figures, the leisure park presents 29 treetop adventure courses and various activities ranging from laser game à l’explor game. This latest activity, launched recently, is presented as “a mix betweenescape gamewith riddles, the geocaching, with a tablet to find your way around, and Cluedo”indicates Séverine Vercruysse. The director says she is keen to offer a “inclusive adventure”without falling into a proposition where “There are only thrills”.

Respect for nature

Contrary to the enormous machine that Walibi represents, the Aventure Parc highlights a “a parenthesis in a forest”says Séverine Vercruysse. The setting plays off its setting: a green setting extending over a few hectares and located on the edge of the Beumont woods. A refreshing space that the park strives to respect. As evidenced by its eco-responsible “Green Key” label.

Moreover, every year, the company checks the health of the trees in order to identify any potential deterioration. “Taking care of nature is really something that is close to our hearts, we want to leave the planet in good health.”

This bucolic space will be in the spotlight at the end of the afternoon, on Saturday April 4 and Sunday April 5, with a big Easter egg hunt. It remains to be seen who will find the most!
