The advisor to the wali of Hodh El Gharbi for political and social affairs Mr. Ahmed Ould Boubacar, chaired, Tuesday evening, at the new youth center of Aioun, the closing ceremony of the second edition of the great competition for memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran, the Sunnah and the hadith organized by the commune of Bennamane.
Many candidates participated in this competition, divided into three categories: memorization of the entire, half and quarter of the Holy Quran.
In his speech, the mayor of Bennamane, Mr. Abidine Ould Sidiya Ould Mohamed, welcomed the organization of this event, stressing that it is part of the efforts made to encourage the memorization of the Koran, promote interest in the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) and of the hadith, and spread the noble values of Islam.
For his part, Mr. Hamoud Ould Amar Jowda, president of the competition supervision committee, welcomed this initiative, considering it as a model to follow to honor and encourage those who have memorized the Quran.
At the end of the ceremony, cash prizes were awarded to the winners in recognition of their efforts and excellence.
The closing ceremony of the competition took place in the presence of the hakem of the moughataa of Aioun, the vice-president of the region of Hodh El Gharbi, the deputy mayor of the commune of Aioun, as well as several heads of regional services and many others guests.
