Ranking of Var high schools: the criteria for our rankings

Three major criteria guided the construction of this high school ranking. The baccalaureate success rate appears at the top of our evaluation grid. The mention rate and added value indicators complete this base. These measure the progress of students between their entry into second year and obtaining their diploma. Our classification method also takes into account the diversity of the social profile of students within each high school. Establishments practicing mixed education benefit from a bonus in our rating. The variety of specialties offered constitutes an additional criterion, promoting high schools offering a wide range of choices to their students.

Definitions to remember to understand the criteria for our high school rankings:

  • Success rate: indicates the percentage of students who passed the baccalaureate exam.
  • Secondary school access rate to the baccalaureate: measures the capacity of a high school to lead its students from the second class to success in the baccalaureate.
  • Expected rates: comparison between the results obtained and those expected based on various factors such as the academic level of students when they enter high school.
  • Added value on the criteria: evaluates the effect of high school teaching and supervision on improving student performance.
