This weekend, the first session of the Alliance Of Her Academy 2026 was held in the province of Namur. A major European program, supported by the ALDE Party, which trains and supports women involved in politics, in which Victoria Vandeberg is participating this year, representing the MR.
For four days, the Château de Ronchinne hosted the first session of the Alliance Of Her Academy 2026, a European program dedicated to strengthening female leadership in politics, made up of one woman per liberal party from different countries of the Union. Seminars, training, discussions and inspiring meetings punctuated this weekend in the heart of Wallonia.
Supported by the ALDE Party, the Alliance Of Her today constitutes one of the main European training and support programs for women in politics. Its objective is clear: to remove obstacles, open doors and strengthen trajectories that these women are fully capable of leading on their own.
It thus offers tools, a framework for exchange and a network that allows those who are already committed to consolidate their place, broaden their impact and navigate more effectively in demanding political environments.
This academy brings together each year women from liberal parties from across Europe, determined to get involved, to progress and to make their voices heard. Beyond the training, a true European network is being built, encouraging the exchange of experiences and the sharing of good practices between participants.
Among the highlights of this first session, participants were notably able to discuss with Liesje Schreinemacher, former Dutch minister, and alumna of the program, who came to share her journey and her lessons, concretely illustrating the challenges but also the opportunities that mark a political career.
“Delighted to join the 2026 class of this European program, a real platform for exchanges between committed women from liberal parties in the four corners of Europe, and proud to represent the MR there.
I am enthusiastic about the idea of comparing our experiences with counterparts from across Europe, because these meetings are valuable for fostering open-mindedness, sharing good practices and bringing to life, together, the European values that bring us together.” confides Victoria Vandeberg, mayor of Jalhay and federal deputy.
Through this participation, the MR is fully part of a European dynamic aimed at strengthening the place of women in politics. Because beyond individual journeys, it is the quality of our democracies that is at stake: promoting female leadership means enriching decision-making and guaranteeing a fairer representation of society.
Since its creation, the Alliance Of Her has already supported several hundred women across Europe, many of whom now occupy leading political positions. This network constitutes an essential lever to encourage commitment, remove obstacles and sustainably support women’s political careers.
The next session will be held in Riga in June, thus continuing this European dynamic of learning, cooperation and shared political ambition.
