Last June, after PSG’s victory in the Champions League, Nasser Al-Khelaifi revealed the project for a documentary to come on Netflix. But according to L’Équipe, the streaming giant has since been cooled.
It was in June 2025. “There will be a documentary series on Paris Saint-Germain after the Club World Cup,” revealed the president of PSG, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, in an interview with the Al Kass channel. “It will be behind the scenes of the events and it will be released on Netflix after the Club World Cup.”
The idea of having access to never-before-seen images from the locker room, notably at the heart of the Champions League coronation and the final victory against Inter Milan, was enough to appeal to supporters, always fond of never-before-seen images around their team. Problem, The Team reveals this Thursday that the project is in trouble.
Netflix doesn’t want a “promotional clip”
According to the daily, an agreement was finalized last year between PSG and Netflix. But the streaming giant would have since been somewhat cooled by viewing the material made available by the club. At issue: possible editorial divergences and the desire, on Netflix’s side, not to limit itself to a simple “promotional clip”.
Still according to L’Équipe, the documentary You can’t understand!, produced by Movistar during the 2023-2024 PSG season and dedicated to Luis Enrique, would not necessarily have been unanimous in the Parisian ranks. “Luis Enrique knows how to market himself, he made his own doc and he is accused by certain players and big agents of only wanting the spotlight on him,” a producer even explains to L’Équipe.
“On the other hand, he considers that it is complicated to win with a documentary which goes to the players to expose problems, issues,” assures this producer. To the daily newspaper, PSG simply acknowledged a scheduling concern, without brushing aside the project around this documentary.
