WFSB Launches Expanded Midday News Coverage on WFSB Plus and WWAX

HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) – WFSB announced a major expansion of its midday news programming, significantly increasing the amount of live, local coverage available to Connecticut viewers. Beginning April 6th, three new newscasts will air on our free streaming app WFSB+ and WWAX: an hour-long broadcast at 11:00 a.m., a 30-minute newscast at 1:00 p.m. both hosted by Roger Susanin, and a new one-hour program at 2:00 p.m. Eyewitness News Extra with Brian Shactman.

The expansion reflects the WFSB family of channels’ commitment to delivering more of the local news, weather, and community coverage that Connecticut viewers rely on throughout the day.

The New Midday Lineup on WFSB Plus and WWAX

Eyewitness News at 11AM A comprehensive one-hour midday newscast delivering the latest breaking news, weather updates, and local stories impacting Connecticut communities.

Eyewitness News at 1PM A focused half-hour update keeping viewers informed with the top stories of the day, hosted by Roger Susanin.

2:00PM – Eyewitness News Extra with Brian Shactman A new hour-long afternoon program anchored by veteran journalist Brian Shactman, featuring in-depth local reporting, community conversations, and coverage of the stories shaping Connecticut.

Shactman, a seasoned broadcaster with extensive experience in both local and national news, expressed enthusiasm for the new program.
