Many faithful gathered on Sunday March 29 at the church of Montigny-le-Roi to celebrate Palm Sunday mass, marking the start of Holy Week. In a collected atmosphere, the parishioners responded for this high point in the liturgical calendar. The celebration was marked by the blessing of the palms, a central moment of the service, during which everyone was able to have their boxwood blessed, a symbol of peace, victory and renewal. Boxwood was also offered in the church, the donations offered being for the benefit of the young people of the Sainte-Marie-Madeleine parish. A particularly moving time was also observed with a minute of silence dedicated to world peace, inviting everyone to reflection and hope. After mass, parish life continued on the square. The members of the Jeanne-d’Arc household offered for sale a wide choice of sweet or savory homemade cakes, carefully prepared by the volunteers, and very appreciated by visitors. In a warm atmosphere, despite the cold morning, the exchanges continued between the faithful, testifying to the dynamism of the community. A particularly warm welcome was reserved for everyone, helping to make this morning a moment that was both spiritual and fraternal.
