The Neustrelitz Book Days are here!
The upcoming weeks in Neustrelitz will be filled with literary events as the Neustrelitz Book Days kick off for the fifth time. From mid-April to the end of May, the city will be immersed in literature, reading, and discussions about our time.
The significance of this period is highlighted by the celebration of World Book Day on April 23 and the remembrance of the barbarity of the Nazi book burnings on May 10. Various actors and institutions will host events during this time to cultivate a love for reading and explore the importance of literature. These include bookstores, theaters, art houses, cinemas, and cafes.
The Hans-Fallada-Club combines this diversity into the program for the Neustrelitz Book Days, featuring a lecture about the author and democrat Adolf Glaser, who has strong ties to Neustrelitz, on May 8 at the Cultural Quarter. Other events include discussions on artificial intelligence at the Philosophical-Literary Salon on April 16 and readings at the zoo on April 24. The program will also celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Cultural Quarter on April 25 and offer city and regional tours during the “Cycle In” event at the end of April.
Look out for flyers and posters advertising the 5th Neustrelitz Book Days throughout the city in the coming days.
