What is this about?

The story takes place in the United States, in the fictional town of Snowfield. An organization is trying to recreate a Holy Grail War, this legendary ritual allowing heroes of the past called Servants to be summoned to fight each other until only one remains. But this war is far from perfect.

The ritual is incomplete, the rules are unstable and the Servants summoned do not always correspond to the usual classes. Result: a totally unpredictable war where each side has assets that are as powerful as they are dangerous.

Why is it good?

A totally unbridled version of Fate

If you already know the license, Fate/strange Fake pushes the concept even further. Here the rules are broken, the summons are unstable and chaos reigns supreme. Each confrontation becomes unpredictable.

An impressive cast

One of the great strengths of the work is its enormous gallery of characters (a nice range of crazy people, if you ask me). Between the Masters and the Servants, each has their own objective, their personality and their motivations. Result: a rich story full of twists and turns.

Spectacular fights

As always in the Fate universe, the clashes are a real pleasure to follow. But here, with shaky rules, the fights become even more intense and unpredictable.

A more mature and complex atmosphere

Just like the other versions (Fate Zero, Fate Stay Night) Fate/strange Fake takes the time to develop its plots and characters. We are on a denser work, with several narrative threads that intersect.

Ultra epic music to enrich the Grail War

This season, we find a very big name in the lineup: Hiroyuki Sawano! A composer who needs no introduction, already behind the OSTs of Solo Leveling, Shingeki no Kyojin and Guilty Crown. And I might as well tell you that he does not disappoint. Once again, he gives us ultra-powerful pieces capable of enhancing each scene: whether in the epic moments that give you chills or in the tense phases where each note increases the pressure.

And what about the opening? Visually impressive, musically impactful… It sets the mood straight away and sets the tone from the first seconds!

Conclusion

This season of Fate shakes up the usual codes and offers us a much larger cast (Masters and Servants) and above all more original than in certain previous seasons. The studio A-1 Pictures Here we deliver a spectacular season that builds up to a final cliffhanger that is as frustrating as it is effective! We are now hoping for a quick announcement for the sequel (please)… In the meantime, for those who have not yet started it, the 13 episodes of the series await you and will clearly delight you… and ears!
