The workshop reopens its doors. Cristina Cordula welcomes eight amateur couturiers in this new season of Hand sewna show now broadcast on the RMC Life channel from this Wednesday April 1st. The largest amateur sewing competition in France is getting a makeover for its big return after nine years of absence. Every week, the candidates meet in the workshop to compete in two tests, one technical and the other creative, to be completed of course within a limited time. For the first challenge, they will have to make a piece from an imposed pattern, while the second will ask them to rethink an existing garment, thanks to upcycling. Volumes, lines, uses… They will have to give free rein to their imagination!

A new jury

Cristina Cordula will be present to remind the candidates of the rules, encourage them and admire their creations, alongside a new jury, made up of two sewing experts. Morgane Pronost is the director of a sewing workshop and has worked for several prestigious houses, including Saint Laurent, Kenzo, Chantal Thomass and Mugler. She has collaborated on more than fifty fashion shows and designed outfits for international stars like Beyoncé, Cardi B and Dua Lipa. To judge the level of the candidates, she is accompanied by Morgane Jeudy, sewing teacher and content creator on social networks. Creator of her brand of patterns, she shares her know-how and her creations with more than 125,000 subscribers.

A show in tune with the times

Delighted with the return of this show dear to her heart, Cristina Cordula confides to Diverto: “It’s a show that I really like, I couldn’t say no. It was my baby, so I accepted straight away and it’s really a fun challenge to do. They are amateur seamstresses and it is very moving to see their love for sewing, the enthusiasm is incredible!” In ten years, the way we consume fashion has changed and more and more consumers are moving away from fast fashion to favor sustainable clothing. For the host, “customization is becoming more and more relevant. The fashion industry is so polluting that taking advantage of something you have and transforming it is in the spirit of the times.Hand sewnc’est à 21h10 sur RMC Life. Durée: 1h25.
