Hill Alerts (climb alert) and Pace Strategy (pace strategy: two major new features that change race management

At the heart of this update, two features clearly stand out. They are not anecdotal. They directly affect the way of running.

The first, Hill Alerts, allows you to anticipate climbs on a route loaded into the watch. Before even tackling a difficulty, an alert is displayed with key information: distance to the summit, remaining elevation gain and current slope.

On the trail, this real-time reading changes effort management. It becomes possible to immediately adjust your pace according to the terrain, without having to endure the climb.

The second new feature, Pace Strategy, goes even further. It allows you to build a complete pace strategy based on the route or a target distance.

Unlike a simple average, the pace is adapted to each portion: uphill, downhill or flat. The system even takes progressive fatigue into account, especially over long distances.

Result: a much more realistic reading of the race, segment by segment.

Other new features designed for the field

Beyond these two major new features, COROS adds a series of improvements that respond to concrete uses.

Weekly distance tracking becomes more accessible, making it easier to monitor training load. Increasing type size improves readability in full activity, an often underestimated but essential point.

The pause menu enriched allows you to consult a session summary without stopping it, which is useful during long outings or route reconnaissance.

Adding a lock code reinforces safety, while the summary dedicated to climbing shows the gradual opening of COROS towards other outdoor practices.

Compatibility with hybrid drivesas well as integration with certain training platforms, complete the package.

One point deserves to be underlined: these new features are not reserved only for the latest models.

COROS is deploying a large part of this update on watches already on the market for several years. An approach which contrasts with that of certain brands, where new functions are often limited to the latest generations.

For users, this means an extended hardware lifespan, and an experience that continues to evolve over time.
