It’s D-day for the release of the AirPods Max 2. After launching pre-orders, Apple is marketing its new headphones for 579 euros.

What’s new in AirPods Max 2
The AirPods Max 2 take the design of the first model while offering several colors (midnight, starlight, purple, orange and blue). They now integrate the H2 chip already seen on the AirPods, which allows active noise reduction announced up to 1.5 times more effective, an improved Transparency mode and a set of functions such as personalized spatial audio and adaptive audio to automatically adjust listening to the environment.
Here are all the new features activated by the H2 chip:
- Adaptive audio: automatically adjusts active noise reduction and transparency mode levels depending on the environment
- Conversation detection: lowers the volume and reduces background noise as soon as the user starts speaking
- Real-time translation: translates face-to-face conversations in real time via Apple Intelligence
- Voice isolation: isolates the user’s voice during calls by eliminating ambient noise
- Studio quality recording: High-quality voice capture for podcasters, singers and interviewers
- Camera remote control: déclenche photos et vidéos à distance via la Digital Crown
- Reduction of loud noises: protects against loud environmental sounds
- Volume personnalisé : automatically adapts the volume according to the user’s listening habits
- Siri : allows you to respond to Siri announcements by nodding or shaking your head
On the audio side, the headset benefits from a new dynamic transducer designed by Apple, a wide dynamic range amplifier and supports lossless audio up to 24-bit/48 kHz in wired mode via the USB‒C port. In addition, AirPods Max 2 offer up to 20 hours of battery life with noise reduction enabled, recharge via USB‒C and add smart features like conversation detection, voice isolation and live translation.
