We knew that the Rhône Department was keen on rewarding the agricultural and artisanal producers of its territory through the Talents du Rhône program. But budding musicians and apprentices also have the right to their distinction.
On Saturday, March 28, the community organized its evening of musical talents at the Lyon Departmental Hotel. “An opportunity to showcase the music schools in the Rhône area, to highlight the work of students, teachers, employees, and volunteers,” said the Rhône in a press release.
Innovation, integration: various awards for the Beaujolais region
Ten rewards were delivered on this occasion, corresponding to the number of music schools in the territory. Six of them are located in Beaujolais. The Chessy/Châtillon music school won the “Hats off to the teachers” award, while the Vindry-sur-Turdine music school received the “innovative approach” award.
The “music learning for middle school students” award was given to the Val d’Oingt music school, the “artistic and cultural education” award to the Saint-Étienne-des-Oullières music school, and the “intergenerational” award to Belleville-en-Beaujolais. Lastly, an award for “territorial animation” was presented to Muzikadem in Villefranche.
<p"The young people from our music schools who work all year have been rewarded at events, under the authority of the Republic," said Martine Publié, Vice-President of the Rhône in charge of culture, tourism, attraction, and community life. "It's a great reward for them."
Over 700,000 euros in subsidies for Rhône music schools
As a reminder, the Department financially supports the music schools in the area through several operating and investment subsidies “to strengthen and consolidate access to arts and culture and to support the artistic education of Rhodanians throughout their lives.”
The Rhône has 49 partner music schools with the community, 7,686 students, 697,380 euros in annual operating subsidies to train students (by 2025), and 20,000 euros in investment to acquire equipment.
