In a study published this Wednesday, April 1, the CIES Football Observatory lists and ranks the most profitable training centers over the last 10 years. LOSC is at the top of the basket.

The statistical studies and Excel tables continue: the CIES Football Observatory never stops. Its editors, Raffaele Poli, Roger Besson and Loïc Ravenel, have published its 540th weekly letter, enough to delve into the figures again. The latter focuses on the most profitable training centers over the past decade.

It is no real surprise that SL Benfica, accustomed to selling its young players at a high price, leads the way with a cumulative 589 million euros. Ajax Amsterdam (€454 million) and Chelsea (€442 million) complete the podium. French teams are not left out, since two of them, Olympique Lyonnais (4th, €423 million) and AS Monaco (8th, €378 million), are part of the top 10 most profitable training centers.

Growing trend among Mastiffs

But where does LOSC fit into all this? Well, the Lille team ranks 47th in the world with 160 million euros in sales over the last ten years. The transfer of Leny Yoro, sold for 62 million euros (excluding bonuses) to Manchester United, is no stranger to this since it represents 44% of this sum alone. Les Dogues are at the top of the basket in France, in fifth place among the most successful clubs in the field.

LOSC, unlike certain clubs such as AS Monaco, is making progress. At least that is the trend, since the majority of sales from the Lille training center have been made over the last five years. The 29th place is also occupied when we focus only on this shorter and more recent duration.
