It’s official. Emmanuel Macron will be in Lyon on April 7 for an international summit. The head of state, heavily engaged in the war in the Middle East, will be in the city center at the prefecture in the 3rd district and at the Lyon Convention Center for the “One Planet Summit” dedicated to the “One Health Approach” that considers the interdependence between human health, animal health, and the environment.
Several foreign heads of state expected
Emmanuel Macron will preside over a day where other heads of state and government, as well as scientists, are expected. He is the first president of a country to officially announce his presence at this “high-level” summit.
At 11:30 a.m. next Tuesday, the French president is expected to welcome counterparts at the Rhône Prefecture, which will likely be surrounded by a massive security setup. He will then attend a working meeting on global architecture reform and participate in a working lunch, still at the prefecture.
After the prefecture, the Convention Center
The presidential convoy will then head to the Lyon Convention Center as of 3 p.m. at the Cité internationale facing the Tête d’Or park. There, he will deliver the opening speech at the One Health Summit. He is also set to participate in other meetings focused on governance and science, communicable and non-communicable diseases.
The event is expected to conclude shortly before 7 p.m. next Tuesday.
