The village vibrated to the rhythm of the 2nd edition of the La Digne-d’Aval trail. Among the three courses offered to competitors, the 25 km one offered a remarkable passage through the heart of the village. Coming from La Digne, after crossing the Magrie ridge, the 62 runners competing in this distance crossed Tourreilles via the entrance to Castelreng.

On this occasion, a supply point was set up, run by Cécile Garrigues, Marie-Christine Palomino and Béatrice Bousquet, members of the municipal council. They welcomed the participants with water and welcome encouragement before the ascent of the path of the Cross of Saint-Pierre. This portion of the course, renowned for being one of the steepest, was secured and marked by volunteers from the Limoux Cyclo club. Despite the effort required, the runners were able to enjoy the landscapes offered by this particularly picturesque sector. The event attracted many spectators who came to encourage the participants: families, friends and residents helped to create a warm atmosphere. Some took the opportunity to discover or rediscover the village and its relaxation areas. Among the supporters, the oldest of the village, Mr. Marmet, 95 years old, in great shape and passionate about cycling, would not have missed this meeting for anything in the world. Installed on the front line, he welcomed this great initiative from the organizers to integrate Tourreilles into the course. A friendly and appreciated event this Sunday morning, which delighted the early risers as well as the residents mobilized for the occasion.
