Rapper Megan Thee Stallion was hospitalized in New York City during a performance of “Moulin Rouge!: The Musical” on Broadway.

The singer of “Savage (Remix)” had to leave the production midway, which marks her Broadway debut, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Her representative, Didier Morais, stated, “During Tuesday night’s production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated. We will share additional updates as more information becomes available.”

The specific illness and her condition remain unclear.

Megan Thee Stallion, a three-time Grammy Award winner, had started an eight-week engagement at the Hirschfeld Theatre on March 24 and was scheduled to perform until May 17, according to Variety.

Playing the role of Zidler in “Moulin Rouge! The Musical,” her absence raises questions about how the show will proceed, Deadline reported.

The performer’s hairstylist and close friend, Kellon Deryck, confirmed in a post on X that Megan Thee Stallion had been taken to the hospital, requesting prayers without providing further details.

After a seven-year run on Broadway, “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” is set to conclude its performances on July 26, making it the 36th-longest-running show in Broadway history, Variety reported.
