We received a somewhat devastating email overnight which threw all our plans into disarray. It was brutal, difficult to accept.” Anthony Martin, director of the Alinéa store in Allonne (Oise) had to face the judicial liquidation of the brand recorded on March 31, four months after its placement in receivership, mid-November.

A furniture specialist, the Alinéa company was founded in 1989 in Avignon, but like other establishments it is no exception. Alinéa, which has 36 franchised stores, saw its turnover increase from 427 million in 2014 to 162 million in 2025. 1,200 jobs were cut across France and only 7 brands were kept but under another name.

A situation for which Allonne’s 17 employees are paying the price, like Evan Letocart, a salesman for 5 years, who despite everything tries to keep smiling. “It took a few days for the pill to pass. After all honestly, now we have to move forward, we have to see the positive and perhaps bounce back elsewhere.” Some employees will be relocated and the others will be taken care of by France Travail after the final closure on April 18. A massive 50% clearance sale is being implemented across the entire store before leaving the 3,500 m2 premises empty.

The judicial liquidation of Alinéa and the closure of the Allonne franchise comes in an already tense economic context in Beauvaisis. “That’s yet another decoration and furniture store less. It’s a shame for Beauvais which is already losing a lot of stores, reacts a customer who is not the only one to notice the situation. You may have to move away from Beauvais and go to other departments to find quality furniture.

A loss for the Isarians after the closure of Centrakor and 4 Murs while the brand “worked very well” as reported by seller Evan Letocart. “We were a positive store, we had a lot of traffic, we managed to keep the store running smoothly. We weren’t as lost as the other stores.” The brand had, however, received a takeover offer from a Romanian group but which had been rejected by management and then by the Marseille court. The question now is whether Alinéa will be replaced by another store.
