This project funded by the European Union brings together public decision-makers, industrial players and communities to examine how circular economy solutions can be deployed on a larger scale, beyond pilot projects.
HELSINKI AND BRUSSELS, March 31, 2026–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The TREASoURcE project, funded by the European Union, will present its main results as well as its strategic recommendations during its closing conference, which will be held on April 14, 2026 in Brussels. This event will bring together political decision-makers, representatives of the private sector, researchers, communities and civil society actors from across Europe. Organized over a full day, the conference will be devoted to the conditions enabling circular economy solutions to move from pilot project stage to deployment on a larger scale.
Over the last four years, TREASoURcE has developed and tested scalable circular solutions within three value chains: plastics, batteries, as well as bio-based by-product and waste streams.
From demonstration to deployment: meeting the challenge of scaling up in Europe
This closing conference responds to one of the main challenges of the European transition towards a circular economy: how to go beyond the success of local demonstrations to achieve wider adoption by the market and effective integration into public policies. Through plenary sessions and expert round tables, the event will highlight the conditions necessary for this rise in power, in particular adaptation of regulatory frameworks, use of digital solutions, market maturity, stakeholder engagement, financing models and cross-sector cooperation.
The program includes plenary sessions devoted to favorable conditions for the deployment of circular economy solutions and stakeholder engagement, followed by three dedicated parallel workshops plastics, batteries and bio-based by-product and waste streams. These sessions will highlight concrete demonstrations, economic analyzes and insights into public policies.
Contributing to European ambitions in terms of the circular economy
This conference is aimed at European decision-makers, representatives of national and regional authorities, the private sector, research, CCRI projects as well as civil society organizations. The program highlights the diversity of roles that these actors play in accelerating Europe’s transition to a circular economy.
