NVIDIA finally launches its DLSS 4.5 with 6X mode: how to boost your RTX graphics card

Announced with great fanfare during CES 2026 last January, NVIDIA’s ambitious update is finally available. The manufacturer is today deploying the beta version of its new application integrating all the functionalities of DLSS 4.5. On the program, unprecedented fluidity thanks to dynamic image generation and a 6X mode reserved for owners of GeForce RTX 50 cards.

The promise was great, it is now becoming a reality for PC players. NVIDIA has just launched a major update to its NVIDIA App in beta, enabling the latest advancements in its scaling technology. If the visual improvement benefits all RTX cards, the real stars of this spring deployment are aimed directly at the most muscular configurations equipped with Blackwell chips.

A display designed for 240 Hz screens

As we explained to you at the start of the year, NVIDIA is radically transforming its technology to saturate 240 Hz screens. The manufacturer is introducing Dynamic Multi Frame Generation. Gone is the fixed multiplier which imposed a rigid artificial rhythm. This new system adapts in real time to the load of your graphics processor and the refresh rate of your monitor to maintain excellent fluidity without compromising latency.

This flexibility is accompanied by the highly anticipated Multi Frame Generation 6X mode, an absolute exclusivity for the RTX 50 architecture. Artificial intelligence is now capable of generating five artificial images for each image actually calculated by the GPU. According to data from the Santa Clara firm, this technological leap makes it possible to increase performance by 35% in 4K in certain very specific scenarios using path tracing. The American company sums up this technical prowess with a very automotive analogy:

“This intelligent system works like an automatic transmission for your GPU.”

An update via the NVIDIA application

Manipulation is simple but requires a little technical precision. DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution now benefits all RTX cards by forcing file replacement directly from the NVIDIA App settings. Be careful though, this option called override does not magically make a game compatible if it did not already support the NVIDIA ecosystem at the base.

Of the more than 400 compatible applications already announced by the brand, the other major advance directly concerns visual comfort. The new Frame Generation model fixes one of the biggest historical flaws in technology by drastically improving the clarity of user interfaces. Mini-maps, gauges and various on-screen display elements no longer suffer from unsightly visual artifacts.

Games already in the starting blocks

Developers are already adopting these new features to improve their titles. The shooting game ARC Raiders has just deployed its Flashpoint update with full support for these technologies to increase performance tenfold and make lighting more realistic.

From son côté, Marvel Rivals inaugurates its seventh season with the integration of image generation coupled with NVIDIA Reflex to reduce system latency. Players will still have to show a little patience until April 2 to be able to explore the brand new Lower Manhattan map included in this big spring update.
