China and Pakistan call for immediate end to Middle East war with multi-point plan
- The China and Pakistan appeal for an end to the war in the Middle East with a multi-point plan.
- Islamabad positions itself as a key player in negotiations around the conflict.
- How to explain it? Colonel Peer de Jong provides his analysis of the situation on LCI.
Pakistan making a move? The country now occupies a mediator role in the Middle East war, a month after the conflict began. Pakistan’s crucial role is due to its ability to deal with Iran and the United States.
On LCI, Colonel Peer de Jong discusses the links between Islamabad and Washington. “General Munir, the head of Pakistan, trained in the United States. As a result, he is very close to Donald Trump,” explained the specialist. Pakistan and China issued a joint call on Tuesday, March 31, to end the conflict, presenting a multi-point plan including a ceasefire and the restoration of traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Colonel Peer de Jong, Pakistan could potentially assist the United States. “It’s a backup and exit strategy for the Americans. They announced that the five-six week tempo defined by Trump at the beginning of the war will be met. We are now in the fourth week, there are two weeks left,” noted the LCI consultant.
