The 2026 edition of the sports forum will take place on Saturday, August 29.

Many representatives from the affiliated associations of the Office of Sports in Grand Cahors were present at the general meeting of the structure on March 26. Mireille Codet, newly elected in charge of sports, festivities, and proximity to the town of Cahors, and Bénédicte Lanes, Vice-President of Grand Cahors in charge of sports, Xavier Thuries, head of the youth, engagement, and sports department, and Pascal Grenet from the City’s sports department. A first for the President of the Office François Jordan, elected in 2025 (succeeding Gérard Mazet, who was president for 8 years). The Office of Sport is in very good health with a highly motivated board of directors and bureau. Apart from its support for various associations, its flagship activity is the annual sports forum. With 3200 visitors, 86 associations representing 49 sports disciplines, 43 permanent workshops available to the public, and a number of demonstrations on the sports field, it has become a must-attend event. To enhance its communication, the Office has a website showcasing all the affiliated sports associations along with news, and a booklet “Sport in Grand Cahors from A to Z” distributed for free at the forum and most public places. The 2026 edition of the forum will take place on Saturday, August 29 at the Lucien Desprats stadium. Each year, the Office takes advantage of the convivial moment of the general meeting to honor volunteer leaders by presenting the Willy Estève Trophy. The 2026 recipients are: Alice Baboulène from Cahors Handball, Élisabeth Duprat from the 1st Archery Company of Cahors, Florentino Brès from Cahors Gymnastics, Christian Roudayre from the Extrapédalés, and Alain Timmer from Lao Jia.
