Former Mali international, Sebe Coulibaly succeeds in her transition by launching Ladies Squad, an application dedicated to women’s sports. In an interview with CAFOnline.com, she explains how she anticipated her post-career to continue impacting African sports.
At 32 years old, Sebe Coulibaly embodies a successful transition, contrary to the void that many athletes fear after their careers. Since 2018, after participating in the Africa Cup of Nations, she began preparing for her future alongside her on-field performance. Committed to the concept of a dual project, she gradually developed her association and her application Ladies Squad, designed to remove barriers to female sports participation, such as professional constraints, lack of infrastructure, or difficulty finding playmates. “Football has built me,” she says, emphasizing the importance of values acquired, like respect, team spirit, and solidarity, which are now at the heart of her projects.
With Ladies Squad, Sebe Coulibaly offers more than just a digital solution: a true ecosystem dedicated to women’s sports, based on connection, sharing, and inclusion. The goal is clear: to enable all women to engage in sports in an accessible and motivating environment. Still active on the field, especially in futsal, the former international continues her commitment with the same passion, but in a different form. Her journey illustrates a strong trend in African sports: athletes becoming agents of change, capable of turning their experiences into tangible tools for the future of women’s sports.
