George Pickens’ Attendance at Offseason Program Uncertain

10:30 a.m. — Over a month since the Cowboys tagged WR George Pickens with the non-exclusive franchise tag, questions arise about his attendance at the upcoming offseason program. Coach Brian Schottenheimer revealed at the NFL Owners Meetings that there are no guarantees of Pickens participating.

“No, and I haven’t pushed that on him,” Schottenhiemer said, indicating uncertainty about Pickens’ attendance. “We’re all going through the process. It’s almost April, we’re still a couple weeks away. It’s going to play out the way it plays out. Again, it’s all voluntary, so we’ll see where it goes.”

Currently, Pickens is engaged in his offseason activities, including training with WR CeeDee Lamb and catching passes from Dak Prescott. Despite speculation about Pickens’ future with the Cowboys, Schottenheimer expressed confidence in the wide receiver’s long-term presence in Dallas.

“He’s training with Dak. GP loves it here. We love GP,” Schottenheimer affirmed. “We have plans for GP to be here for a long time, so we’ll let the business side of this thing play out and see where it goes.”
