The MCFA (Maison de la Culture Famenne Ardenne) has been hosting the annual exhibition “Posters for Peace” by the Lions Clubs Marche-en-Famenne since Saturday, March 28th. This exhibition is part of the international Poster for Peace competition organized by the Lions Club International.

This program encourages children aged 11 to 13 to creatively express their vision of peace. This global competition has been running for over thirty years, giving young people from around the world the opportunity to share their vision of peace. “Our exhibition, with this year’s theme being: ‘Harmony in Humanity,’ will be held until Wednesday, April 8th in the hall of the Maison de la Culture Famenne-Ardenne (MCFA). Our Lions Club has brought together the communal schools, the Free schools, the Royal Athenaeum, and the special education school in Marloie, a total of 14 schools,” said members of the Lions Club Marche.

In total, over 500 posters (536 to be precise) have been created by children under the guidance of their teachers. The communal college marchois was present on Saturday, March 28th for the opening of this “Posters for Peace” exhibition by Lions Club Marche.

For each network, the Lions Club Marche-en-Famenne will award prizes after selection by a jury of artists, with one prize for each network and a special public prize to complement the jury’s selection. Additionally, 18 posters will be selected to participate in the national selection in May and possibly the international selection. “Visitors of the exhibition can also vote for their favorite drawing until Tuesday, April 7th. A public prize will indeed be awarded. Visitors can cast their vote in the urn located in the reception hall of the MCFA,” explained the organizers.

The award ceremony will take place on Wednesday, April 8th at 4:00 PM at the MCFA.
