La MCFA (Maison de la Culture Famenne Ardenne) is hosting the annual exhibition “Posters for Peace” by Lions Club Marche-en-Famenne since Saturday, March 28. This exhibition is part of the international Peace Poster Contest of Lions Club International.
This program encourages children aged 11 to 13 to creatively express their vision of peace. This global competition has been around for over thirty years, giving young people from around the world the opportunity to express their vision of peace. “Our exhibition, with this year’s theme being ‘Harmony in Humanity,’ will be held until Wednesday, April 8 in the hall of Maison de la Culture Famenne-Ardenne (MCFA). Our Lions Club has brought together the municipal schools, the Free schools, the Royal Athénée, and the specialized education school in Marloie, totaling 14 schools, rejoice the members of the Lions Club Marchois. In total, more than 500 posters (precisely 536) have been created by the children under the guidance of their teachers.”

For each network, the Lions Club Marche-en-Famenne will award a prize for each network after selection by a jury of artists, and a special public prize will complement the jury’s prizes. In addition, 18 posters will be selected to participate in the national selection in May and perhaps, in the international selection. “Visitors to the exhibition can also vote for their favorite drawing until Tuesday, April 7. A public prize will indeed be awarded. Visitors can cast their vote in the urn located in the reception hall of the MCFA,” explain the organizers.
The award ceremony will take place on Wednesday, April 8 at 4 p.m. at the MCFA.
