International stars in a small town in France. American singer Rihanna and her husband rapper A$ap Rocky were spotted a week ago at Épinal train station in the Vosges. The two celebrities could even be considering settling permanently in the region.
Stronger than Los Angeles, the new world capital of international stars could be located in a corner of eastern France, specifically in the Vosges. The reason? The arrival of American singer Rihanna and her husband rapper Asap Rocky (A$ap Rocky) both seen at… Épinal train station last Saturday, March 21.
An employee of a local artistic production company, Omega Spectacles, posted a photo with the singer on the company’s social media. According to him, the “Umbrella” performer and her husband were accompanied by numerous bodyguards.
According to Vosges Matin, the SNCF, informed of the presence of the two stars, had implemented a dedicated security mechanism.
Rihanna and A$ap Rocky reportedly traveled to the Vosges to visit a house: “From what I’ve heard and read, she would be interested in a beautiful villa, an architect-designed house inspired by a student of Jean Prouvé in the style of the 1950s, on the heights of Épinal,” said Épinal mayor Benoît Jourdain to Parisien, mentioning a construction worth over a million euros.
A house sold for 1.7 million euros in 2017
It could be the “Maison Gauthier,” on the heights of Saint-Dié-les-Vosges, classified as a historical monument in 2005, sold in 2020 for 1.7 million euros. On the “Place privée” real estate agency website, the still available house listing displays it as sold. With its 6 rooms for 270m² and its pool, it would have caught the attention of the two American artists who might be the buyers.
However, the visit of the two stars surprises the hosts of Estelle Midi: “It’s crazy, if I had seen the listing, I would have passed by thinking about something else when seeing the house because the real estate photos do not do it justice,” says Estelle Denis who believes that the residents of Épinal may have been shocked. “I would have thought it was a look-alike contest,” she adds on RMC.
Rihanna and A$ap Rocky could decide to settle in France like George Clooney where they often visit. The two singers even have the favor of Brigitte Macron, who received them at the Elysée in 2024 as part of the “Yellow Coins” campaign. And earlier in 2017, the “Diamonds” performer had visited the presidential palace to convince Emmanuel Macron to finance her humanitarian education fund.
