The world-renowned opera “La Calisto” by Francesco Cavalli is set to be released by Harmonia Mundi on April 24, 2026, digitally, and on May 15, 2026, physically. Renowned musician René Jacobs introduced Sebastien Daucé to Cavalli’s music, sparking a deep appreciation for the emotion, sensuality, and genius in Cavalli’s works.

After Jacobs proposed bringing “La Calisto” to the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence in 2021, the project gained traction. Despite facing challenges, the production was a testament to Cavalli’s enduring legacy. The new edition of “La Calisto” integrates unique modifications, reflecting Cavalli’s adaptability and commitment to producing timeless music.
