The Niles Arts & Culture Advisory Council and Niles Historical Society are collaborating to create a show in the NVision Gallery in celebration of the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary. The exhibit will feature works of art inspired by photos and historical items from the historical society’s collection.

During a recent meeting, it was mentioned that any object or memory related to Niles can serve as inspiration for works included in the show, emphasizing that professional artists are not required. Items displayed in the gallery will become part of the Historical Society and Cultural Center Museum’s permanent collection.

The opening reception for the NVision Gallery show is scheduled for July 9th from 5 to 8 p.m. Submissions for the show must be made by June 15th following the submission of applications by May 11th. Historical Society and Cultural Center Museum collection items will be available on the village website for inspiration.

As the nation’s 250th anniversary approaches, various events are planned throughout the Northwest suburbs to commemorate the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. To stay updated on more stories like this, consider subscribing to journal-topics.com for daily news.
