In the past year, the Central Council for Literature and Art Theory and Criticism successfully organized numerous training conferences for leaders and artists, and conducted practical scientific seminars at the national level. Another focus was on supporting the team through the evaluation and awarding of 375 outstanding works in literature and art theory and criticism, as well as assisting in the publication of 230 high-quality manuscripts.
In 2025, according to Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, the Central Council for Literature and Art Theory and Criticism will merge with the Central Theoretical Council under the common name Central Theoretical Council. The existing body of the Council for Literature and Art Theory and Criticism will become a subcommittee for Literature and Art Theory and Criticism. Activities in the field of literature and art theory and criticism will essentially ensure the tasks and content defined in Resolution No. 210-QD/TW of November 27, 2019 by the Central Party Secretariat.
In the future, the subcommittee will continue to focus on improving the publication quality and reputation of the journal for Literature and Art Theory and Criticism, as well as promoting the competencies of its staff in cultural management. This includes researching suitable incentive mechanisms to engage leading experts and scholars in contributing to the development of national art and culture.
Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, praised the immense contributions of generations of leaders and members of the Central Council for Literature and Art Theory and Criticism; emphasizing that the merger of the two bodies represents a strategic realignment aimed at positioning and strengthening the work of literature and art theory and criticism in the new era of development.
