The township school district has appointed Jillian Barnes as the new supervisor of science and technology education, replacing Malika Moore. Barnes, an eighth-grade science teacher at Chestnut Ridge Middle School, brings extensive experience in science instruction and instructional leadership. She has shown a strong commitment to high-quality science instruction, collaboration, and innovation throughout her career. Barnes has a master’s in educational leadership from Kean University and multiple New Jersey certifications. In her new role, she will lead efforts to strengthen science programming, support teachers, and enhance the use of instructional technology to provide engaging learning experiences for students aligned with state standards and district goals. School Superintendent Eric Hibbs praised her as a thoughtful leader who can drive curriculum improvement. Barnes expressed excitement about serving the township community and expanding meaningful science and technology learning experiences for all students.
