If Crimson Desert has been updated and its balancing revised, the bosses remain quite difficult for the most part when you don’t have the right technique. One of the first bosses you will face, shortly after Kailok the Cornelame, which we recommend facing, is a boss to defeat to complete a rather important side mission. But it is also the fastest way to retrieve the drilling machine, an extremely useful tool if not essential.
To encounter the Mining Machine of Marni, you must follow the missions from the Robert House, important missions in Crimson Desert. Eventually, you will be asked to free an important location: the Karin Quarry. It’s a vast area that hides many secrets but has fallen into the hands of a band of skinners. While you will need to clean up to complete the mission, it is not necessary to confront all those people to fight the boss.
In fact, you just need to go directly to its lair at the other end of the quarry, it is one of the key points to eliminate to free the Karin Quarry, as important as destroying the barracks of the timber logging camp or the infirmary. First of all, be very careful of its fast hits, it can chain you without giving you the chance to get up. Also, when it enters the ground, roll to avoid the shocks. Count to 4 before it stops, but still dodge since that’s when it will leap from the ground. It’s also one of the first bosses in Crimson Desert that can annihilate you without giving you a chance to survive with its special attack.
When the screen darkens, the Mining Machine will dive into the ground and emerge forcefully multiple times very quickly. If you happen to get hit once, it will be very difficult to avoid the following hits. A simple technique that works with many bosses in Crimson Desert: run away when it launches its skill and stay at a distance. Finally, a very simple trick is to blind the machine to make it short circuit. It turns out it is extremely sensitive to light rays that you can send. Press LB+RB (L1+R1 or both clicks) to activate the skill and hold LB (L1 or right click) to channel the light towards the machine. It will then short circuit, giving you an incredible window to deal massive damage.
