The Iranian defense in action. Israel targeted several electrical installations on Sunday, March 29. The power was cut off in Tehran and its surroundings. The Israeli army said it was striking targets linked to the mullahs’ regime across the Iranian capital. At the same time, American troops are moving closer to the Strait of Hormuz. Since Friday, 3,500 marines and soldiers have arrived in the Middle East with an amphibious assault ship.

Donald Trump continues to sow doubts about an intervention on Iranian soil, but for Iran, there is no doubt: “The enemy publicly sends messages of negotiation and dialogue while secretly planning a ground offensive,” declared Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament.

On Sunday, March 30, Iranians shot down an American Awacs plane in a Saudi base specializing in airspace control. Iranian authorities also threaten to target the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier in the Arabian Sea. This is also a response to the attack on the University of Science and Technology in Tehran on Saturday, March 28. The one in Isfahan was reportedly also hit on Sunday by Americans and Israelis.

Iran threatens to retaliate. As a precaution, the American University of Beirut in Lebanon has decided to conduct its classes online for the next two days. In the south of the country, the Israeli forces continue to advance against Hezbollah. “In Lebanon, I have ordered to further expand the existing security zone to definitively neutralize the invasion threat and move away chariot missile fire from the border,” indicated Benyamin Netanyahu.

Meanwhile, some Gulf countries are trying to end this war. Discussions began on Sunday between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey. They will continue on Monday, March 30.
