Galaxy S26 Ultra Privacy Display: Is it Visible Outdoors and in Full Sunlight?

Beyond a simple gadget, the Privacy Display screen brings a real advantage to the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This screen ensures the confidentiality of what you are viewing.

Galaxy S26 Ultra – Only You Can See What’s Displayed But at What Cost?

With a single click, people beside you no longer see what’s displayed on your smartphone. How is this possible? The Privacy Display screen reduces the viewing angle. Only the person facing the smartphone can see what’s on it.

To achieve this result, Samsung completely modified the structure of this AMOLED screen. Two layers overlap: one with Narrow Pixels and the other with Wide Pixels.

The first ones activate the Privacy Display mode. They restrict the light beam to direct it only towards the user. The second ones (or secondary ones) diffuse light normally to give the screen total visibility.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra switches between them thanks to an icon in the action panel. This confidential display quickly becomes essential. I can’t do without it, especially in public transport.

No More Fear of Prying Eyes

If there is no doubt about the interest of this function, some concessions must be accepted. According to Samsung’s own admission, the Privacy Display mode degrades the display quality when activated. The brightness level decreases, and the definition is affected.

Does the Galaxy S26 Ultra with the confidential display mode remain usable outdoors and in full sunlight? I tested this in my video and invite you to discover the answer.
