GMKtec has been marketing the EVO-T2s mini PC since March 27 in China. The machine features an Intel Core Ultra X7 358H, 64GB of LPDDR5X memory, and an 853GB SSD. The public price is announced at ¥14,999 (approximately AU$1,930), with a batch of 100 units available at ¥9,999 (approximately AU$1,285).
The Meteor Lake-HX platform, bilateral cooling, and 60W power envelope are highlighted features of the Core Ultra X7 358H. The processor boasts an AI capacity of 180 TOPS and a thermal profile of up to 54W in performance mode, with CPU spikes up to 60W. GMKtec mentions a “dual inlet structure” with two fans and a VC-type heat pipe plate for thermal diffusion.
A version equipped with a Core Ultra X9 388H is planned for the future. The chassis maintains the same thermal approach, designed for sustained mixed CPU/NPU loads in a compact form factor.
The memory is soldered in LPDDR5X-8533 (64GB), and storage relies on two M.2 2280 slots – one in PCIe Gen5 and the other in PCIe Gen4, with a combined capacity of up to 16TB. GMKtec mentions support for Phison’s aiDAPTIV+ caching technology.
Connectivity includes 2x USB4, 1x HDMI 2.0, 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 1x OCuLink 4i (PCIe Gen4 x4), a 10 Gigabit port, and a 2.5 GbE port. The wireless card AMD RZ717 supports Wi-Fi 7 in 160 MHz and Bluetooth 5.4.
The mini PC comes pre-installed with GMKtec Claw for immediate use. The Chinese launch takes place amidst public subsidies in 2026, with no information provided for Europe at this stage.
With features like USB4, OCuLink, and a Gen5 M.2 slot, GMKtec targets a segment where I/O expandability is as important as the CPU. The OCuLink x4 paves the way for compact PCIe enclosures or more stable eGPU solutions than USB4 alone, a rare positioning in the consumer mini PC market despite a high entry cost.
