After a successful American tour (two wins against Brazil and Colombia), the French team can now fully focus on the 2026 World Cup in North America (June 11 – July 19).
A successful rehearsal. With two wins in two matches (2-1 against Brazil and 3-1 against Colombia), the French team’s American tour was a resounding success, allowing the players to familiarize themselves with their environment just two and a half months before the World Cup, and giving Didier Deschamps the opportunity to make a final assessment before announcing his definitive squad for the 2026 World Cup, to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico (June 11 – July 19). In addition to the sporting success, this trip to the United States also gave the players a taste of what awaits them logistically at the World Cup. Spending two nights at the Four Seasons in Boston, the staff and players were able to better understand the specificities of a hotel located in the city center, which will serve as their base camp during the tournament.
This week-long American stay also allowed them to assess the transport difficulties that they will need to manage during the World Cup, including traffic, security protocols, and distances, as the coach pointed out. Before the summer, the team has a busy schedule, with Deschamps’ list announcement, friendly matches, and the start of the World Cup, scheduled for June 16 against Senegal.
