The Special Adviser on Strategic Communications and Media to the Minister of Power, Bolaji Tunji, has dismissed reports of the minister’s resignation as untrue. In a phone conversation with a reporter, Tunji stated that Minister Adebayo Adelabu is dedicated to fulfilling his role as the Minister of Power. He urged those spreading the false information to stop making baseless claims.

A fabricated resignation letter supposedly sent by the Minister to President Bola Tinubu on March 26, 2026, has been circulating on social media. The letter claims that Mr. Adelabu stepped down to focus on running for Governor of Oyo State. The recent denial puts an end to speculations about the minister’s alleged resignation.

It is worth noting that President Bola Tinubu set a deadline of March 31 for cabinet members interested in running in the upcoming elections to resign.
