Dave opens up about the “fraternal ties” that link him to Daniel Auteuil
Between Daniel Auteuil and Dave, there is a beautiful story of friendship that has endured over time. In the book “Des amis et des hommes” by Gaëlle Placek, it is revealed that the two artists became friends in the early 70s. “Daniel, I met him in 1971. We weren’t famous. It was during the musical comedy Godspell,” recalled the singer, who described an immediate mutual friendship. “For a year and a half, we shared the stage and the same dressing room. We immediately hit it off,” he shared.
Even though the years have passed and each has gone their separate ways, their bond has never wavered. “When I see him again after a long absence and we warmly greet each other, I feel good in his arms. Our bonds are fraternal. They fill an emotional void, considering he did not have a brother and mine are far away,” he concluded. Comments that undoubtedly pleased the heart of the main person involved.
“Such a liar!”: Dave sets the record straight about his friend, Daniel Auteuil
In an interview with Europe 1, Daniel Auteuil talked about his friendship with Dave, explaining that it all started with a memorable conversation between the singer and him. “Yes yes, that’s how our friendship began. It was the first time I had succeeded in showing off my wealth. I never succeeded afterward, but that’s okay. But, no no, he called me, he said, ‘Listen, I have to tell you, my little dog just got run over. I said ‘Ohhh,’ and he said, ‘Do you have a million to lend me?’ He just slipped it in like that!”
However, there is a twist, as Dave strongly refuted his friend’s version on the set of “C à vous.” “What a liar! It’s the opposite!” he exclaimed loudly to Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine. And continued, “I earned a lot of money before Daniel, obviously, because I was a singing star, and he wasn’t an actor yet. But he did surpass me later on… Daniel, if you want to borrow money from me, anytime!” he jokingly added, showcasing his well-known humor. It’s all in good fun!
