Interview – Eddy Cue, Vice President of Apple Services and Health
LE FIGARO. – How did the iTunes Store help structure the music market?
Eddy CUE. – Partnered with the iPod since 2003, the iTunes Music Store created a seamless way for people to buy, manage, and listen to digital music. It was the first legal music library to offer songs from the five major record labels. You didn’t have to risk illegal downloads. iTunes eventually paved the way for Apple Music, the App Store, Apple TV, and podcasts, reaching a much wider audience. For Apple Music, we focused on an overall experience, bringing fans closer to the artists they love through exclusive interviews, intimate performances, and radio shows with some of the biggest names in music. We also made sure to offer the best listening experience with immersive spatial audio and Lossless mode.
