On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the Istres Municipal Sports Office (OMS) is hosting a new edition of the Handi’Move Day. Throughout the day, the sports complex “Le Podium” will be transformed into a huge field of experimentation where both able-bodied and disabled individuals are invited to push their limits together.

More than 20 sports disciplines to try

The highlight of this day lies in its diversity. With over 20 thematic workshops, visitors can engage in adapted disciplines guided by professionals and enthusiasts.

Whether you are a seasoned athlete or just curious, the program offers a wide range of sensations:

  • Team sports: wheelchair basketball, wheelchair handball, cécifoot (football for the visually impaired), and handi volleyball.
  • Precision and combat: archery, laser shooting, fencing, adapted judo, and boxing.
  • Outdoor and water sports: sailing, rowing, traditional rowing, tandem mountain biking, and adapted climbing.
  • Well-being and leisure: seated gym, table tennis, tennis, aquatherapy, and adapted boccia.

Sensitizing and guiding families

Beyond the practice, the Handi’Move Day is a platform for exchange. Numerous information and orientation booths will be set up at the complex to support people with disabilities and their families on their sports journey in Istres.

The OMS’s objective is clear: to demonstrate that disability is not a barrier to physical fulfillment and to foster meaningful encounters among all citizens of the municipality.
