Nestlé reports theft of 413,793 KitKat bars in transit from Italy to Poland
GENEVA (AP) – Nestlé says thieves have stolen a massive shipment of KitKat bars from a truck traveling from Italy to Poland. The company announced on Friday that the truck and its contents have yet to be located. The bars went missing last week while being transported between production and distribution facilities. Nestlé reports that the stolen load amounts to approximately 12 tons, totaling over 400,000 bars. The company confirms that these bars were intended for sale across Europe. Nestlé warns that there is a possibility the stolen goods could appear in unauthorized markets. Each bar has a unique batch code, which shoppers and retailers can scan to identify matches.
