About
Freshwater Creek is a small rural town, some may even say a location, that is situated at the northern entrance to the Surf Coast Shire on the Geelong – Anglesea Road. It gets its name from the small drainage creek that runs through the area which flows only after heavy rain.
The area consists mainly of farm land that produces wool, fat lambs, beef and various crops including wine grapes, hay, oats and barley.
As Geelong has expanded, development pressures have increased in this area and a number of farming properties have been subdivided into hobby farms.
Freshwater Creek has only two shops. One operates as a petrol station, general store and restaurant and the other is the Freshwater Creek Cake Shop. Well worth a stop for its array of delicious cakes and local produce. There is also a Public Hall and tennis courts (Dickins Road) as well as the Freshwater Creek Steiner School.

V/Line – Timetable
Trains depart regularly from Spencer Street, Melbourne for Geelong. Once in Geelong a daily bus service departs from the Geelong Train Station and will drop you off at the Torquay shopping centre.
