Nicholas Soames – Editor/Photo Journalist

Nicholas Soames has run a Surf Coast based business developing web sites and print material for local businesses for the last 10 years. He was also the creator and publisher of Anglesea Online, which became the Surf Coast’s first online news service. Due to changing life circumstances, Anglesea Online ceased operations in 2008. Nicholas also volunteered his time and skills to design web sites for the Surf Coast Community Houses at Anglesea, Torquay and Deans Marsh as well as training volunteers to maintain them.
Nicholas was an early pioneer of panoramic digital photography on the Surf Coast. In 2000 he began experimenting with multiple photographs, that when joined together using Photoshop went some way to capturing the expansive beauty of Victoria’s southern coastline. Over the years he has built up an extensive archive of unique panoramic landscapes. Based on this work, Nicholas teamed up with Matt Stevenson in 2006 to establish what is now known as The Bell Street Gallery & Print Works.
Nicholas worked for Swedish Television as a researcher and video editor and for ABC TV as the Natural History Sound Archivist, Assistant Sound Editor and web developer. In 2000 he was nominated for an Emmy Award for "Outstanding Individual Achievement in a craft in News and Documentary Programming: Sound".
Nicholas studied Fine Art (Photography), Journalism and International Politics at Deakin University and was a founding member of the Deakin Journalism Society.
John Cook – Advertising Manager

For the past two years John Cook has been the Advertising Manager of Italian Porphyry, an Australian Company that imports stone from Italy and is actively involved in the Australian commercial construction industry.
Prior to his return to Victoria, John was owner/manager of the very popular Road Warriors Cafe at Mt. White on the central coast of NSW. He has also worked as a chef/manager for various companies, large and small for over 20 years.
