Round Two Of The Victorian Junior Titles Kicks Off This Weekend

(Torquay, VIC – Wednesday February 1, 2012): After an action packed weekend of Junior surfing at Gunnamatta, the top Victorian junior surfers will be heading to the ever-consistent break of Jan Juc for Round 2 of the Victorian Junior Surfing Titles.

Round 2 will provide valuable ratings points to the states juniors looking to qualify for the Victorian state surfing team heading to the Australian Junior Surfing Titles later this year.

Under 18 Ratings leader Nelson Brand will be comfortable heading into the second round at his home break of Jan Juc. A regular at the well-known beach break, Brand will have plenty of local knowledge going into this round.

However, he will not be alone with fellow finalists from last weekend all coming from the same stretch of coastline.

In the Under 16 Boys it will again be another tough fought battle between rivals Cody Robinson (Jan Juc) and Joe Van Dijk (Phillip Island).

After an amazing display of progressive surfing at Gunnamatta, this is sure to be a round not to miss.

Meg Sweeney will also be looking to solidify her spot in the Under 18 Girls ratings at her home break after a solid win at Gunnamatta.

She will have to deal with an in form Kelly Laity (Sandy Point), who came home with a big win the Open Women’s division at Gunnamatta.

The Victorian Junior Surfing Titles is Supported by Play it Safe by the Water, Surfing Victoria and the Illicit drugs in Sport Program.
