(Torquay, VIC – Wednesday February 1, 2012): The Victorian Masters Surfing Titles Presented by VB will be held at Jan Juc this weekend where some of the states best over 35 surfers will do battle at the well known beach break.
The event, which caters for surfers above 35 years old, is a chance for old friends to catch up in and out of the water as well as resuming old rivalries.
Reigning Over 35 Men’s champ, Mark Walker (Seaford) will be back to defend his crown after a strong performance at last year’s event.
He will have pressure however from fellow Mornington Peninsula surfer Peter Watts, who made the final last year and took out the Over 40 Mens. Watts went on a tear last year at his home break and will be looking to continue this form at Jan Juc.
Local knowledge will be a huge factor this weekend with the likes of Grayme Galbraith (Jan Juc), Dave Matthews (Jan Juc) and Rowan Sapwell (Jan Juc) all looking to post big results at home.
The event covers over 35 Men’s and Women’s along with events ranging up to Over 55 Men’s.
VB will be providing plenty of giveaways including a slab of their finest for the Wave of the Weekend.
With the potential for an increase in swell throughout Sunday, there will be plenty of action in the water.
The Victorian Masters Surfing Titles is presented by VB and Supported by Surfing Victoria.
