World Surfing Cinema To Screen In Torquay

award winning surf documentary Thirty Thousand, a 30,000 km surfing Odyssey from Casablanca to Cape Town.

Surf World Museum in Torquay will present a four day International Surf Film Festival from Tuesday 3 January to Friday 6 January 2012 featuring a range of exciting surf films from Australia and around the world.

Highlights of this unique film festival include a special screening of the iconic Australian surf film First Love, the Australian premiere of For Better For Worse featuring some unique surfing from England and France plus the award winning surf documentary Thirty Thousand, a 30,000 km surfing Odyssey from Casablanca to Cape Town.

Another highlight of the festival is the super cool California surf surfari Stoked and Broke screening its Victorian premier at Surf World.

Stoked and Broke features Ryan and Cyrus as they make their own surfboards, bamboo rickshaw, solar cookers and head off along the California coast with zero budget but huge ambitions of getting great waves.

The 2012 Surf World International Surf Film Festival will feature a range of short surfing films plus special screenings of rare and previously unseen surf footage from Bells Beach and the Surf Coast region. A full festival program will be released shortly.

The Surf World International Surf Film Festival will be held at Surf World Museum, located within the Torquay Visitor Information Centre, Beach Road, Torquay.

Doors open at 7.30pm with all films commencing at 8.00pm. Tickets are now available for sale from Surf World Museum, including a complete festival pass.
