Local artists have less than six weeks to create their masterpieces for Surf Coast Shire’s 2012 Calendar Competition.
Each year, the popular calendar brings the rich talent of local artists to Surf Coast homes for all to admire. Artists who live or pay rates in the Surf Coast Shire are encouraged to submit one original artwork for consideration for the 2012 edition.
Thirteen original works will be reproduced, with the winning artists receiving a cash prize and acknowledgement on the calendar. All entries, including the winners, will be placed on exhibition locally; with a People’s Choice award to be decided from votes collated during the exhibition.
Entries can be made in three categories:
- Open – works in all media will be accepted
- Installed sculptural work
- Youth
Entry forms need to be lodged before Friday 14 October.
Surf Coast Shire Councillor Rose Hodge said the community calendar is a great opportunity for the talent of local artists to be celebrated.
“This calendar has always provided great exposure for our talented artists,” Cr Hodge said.
“The calendars have been getting better and better each year and the entries always form a wonderful showcase of our region’s rich artistic talent.”
