Mick Fanning (small Bell) and Joel Parkinson (big Bell)
For the third time, Joel Parkinson has claimed the Bell at the climax of this years Rip Curl Pro held at Bells Beach. Mick Fanning, who had performed powerfully throughout the event couldn't match the class, skill and luck of Parkinson.
The whole event was marked by a consistent swell, ranging from 3 to 12 feet (1 – 4 metre) waves and predominently off-shore winds.
Todays capacity crowd was the largest on record with access to Bells Beach being closed at around 12am.
