Surf Coast Arts recently announced via Facebook, that the Surf Coast Film Society has changed its screening venue from the Surf World Theatre to the Anglesea & District Community House.
The long running society, which traditionally meets on the 3rd Friday of each month, has pushed back the screening, for this month only, to the 25th March.
Over the coming months the society is screening a series of Australian classic movies beginning with the film 'Newsfront'. For those effected by this year's floods, this film will have a particular resonance.
Newsfront
This is the dramatic story of the newsreel cameramen who lived and worked in Australia during the golden era of the newsreel from 1948 to 1956.
Len Maguire is a top cameraman whose devotion to his work and loyalty to his company creates conflict with both his colleagues and the people he loves.
Amy is a production assistant working in a predominantly male environment and Len's brother, Frank, heads the Australian branch of an American newsreel company in competition with Len's company.
